CABINET OF CURIOCITIES / 珍品陳列会
新KUUの小さな庭には棚がいくつかあり、キッチンだったり、植物や模型が置かれたり、物入れだったりします。そのたくさんあるうちの一つで毎月小さな展覧会をすることになりました。一般的で代表的なものよりもむしろ個人的で無比な珍品を紹介する予定です。アートやイベントといったものではなく、コレクションもしくは趣味のようなもので、”プレギャラリー”的なものに帰したいと思っています。

in the courtyard of the new kuu, we made several open cabinets. there is one for sitting, one for the coffee-machine, one for the wash basin and the stove, one for brooms, and several for plants and architecture models.
and in one of them, we plan to have a small monthly exhibition. rather than conventional works of art, we wish to introduce personal and unique, if somewhat quirky collections of things. these collections could be a result of particular curiosities about the world or stem from a hobbyist’s obsession, or simply because things were just out there to be held, looked at, pondered upon. as cabinets of curiocities (for they may be how each of us possess the cities we inhabit), these hope to return us to a spirit before the galleries, before the museums, before the biennales.
