スチール窓、ドアの工場を見に青浦へ出かけた。まさに探していたそのものずばりの製品だったけど、この工場では通常はオーストラリアへの輸出のみだそう。ただ小ロットなら中国での現場へも対応してくれるとのこと。早速、新オフィスのミーティングルーム用のドアをお願いしました。

工場で作業員が使用している家具はもちろん全部スチール製で、自分たちでデザインし作ったハンドメイド。スチールならではのプロポーションがとてもきれい。ここもチャイナならではの妄想と意欲の掻き立てられる場所でした。

We visited a steel-frame windows and doors factory in Qingpu and found what we exactly wanted. This factory normally  exports its finished products to Australia. But very occasionally it produces small quantities for the local market. We ordered a door for our meeting room to try.

The furniture that the workers use to work on are all designed and custom-made in steel by the workers themselves. Some proportions of the pieces are quite beautiful because of the material used. This is also a place that can inspire us about making.
