CHARMING GARDENS

we don’t find much charm in contemporary landscape design. but today, we really found what we like at the hui he tang (惠和堂) in a village called lu xiang in dong shan near suzhou. it was built in the ming dynasty, became a primary school after the founding of the p.r.c., left unscathed during the cultural revolution, and finally became a rarely trodden tourist spot. un-designed by man, made by nature.
