We collaborated with our friends Noriko and Magnus on their Factory T-Shirt project. Noriko made white T-shirts in an old factory near Ningbo with the most basic process possible using normal cotton. The idea is to let the basic white T-shirt be a canvas for other collaborators do something with it; to layer it with another creative process.

代島法子さんとMagnusさんによるFactory T-Shirtプロジェクトに協力させていただきました。Tシャツは宇波市の近くの工場で、普通のコットンを使用しもっともベーシックな作り方で代島さんが作ったものです。プロジェクトに参加する人は、その白いTシャツをキャンバスに見立てて、何らかの作業を重ねることになります。

We made six rubber stamps of housing elements all of the same size on plan: a courtyard with a kitchen, a library, a main bedroom, a guest room, a bathroom, and a room with a big table. You have to make your own T-shirt design with these stamps. The white T-shirt would be a kind of site for these elements; accumulating into landscapes of housing based simply on the relationship between these elements. The design of your T-shirt is also the design of your housing.

私達が行ったのは家の機能をばらばらにし、それぞれを同じ大きなのスタンプにすることでした。キッチンのある中庭、大きなテーブルのある部屋、本を読む部屋、大きなベッドのある部屋、小さなベッドのある部屋、シャワーとトイレのある部屋の6種類ができました。これらのスタンプを使って、自分のTシャツをつくります。白のTシャツはまるで建築の敷地のようです。それぞれのスタンプの組み合わせのみで、ランドスケープが出来ていきます。Tシャツデザインでもあり、自分の家のデザインでもあります。

As another layer to this making, Magnus decided to make a short video of the construction process of a project which we designed in central Shanghai. He shot the spaces in this 4-storey terrace house as a kind of landscape in which workers performed their various tasks and roles. Intermittently he recorded the slow accumulation of effects and things as the construction progressed.

それ以外に、kuuの建築現場での施工プロセスについて、Magnusさんによるビデオ作成も進んでいます。4階建てのテラスハウスを、多くの労働者が多くの作業をする一つのランドスケープとして、とらえているようです。工事が進むにつれてゆっくりと積み重ねられていく様子の断片的な記録になっています。（概訳：佐伯）
