HIDE & SEEK OFFICE

before

this 2-level office for a developer, hong da, in shanghai’s suburb zhuJiaJiao is under construction. in the beginning we proposed office walls made of flexible strips of thick felt, but this was later changed to more conventional oak veneer plywood (to be stained white eventually). the 300mm wide strips are orientated at four different angles: 0, 90, 45, 135, depending on the need for different degrees of privacy or openness between rooms and passages.

the floor will be in smooth grey vinyl sheeting and the ceiling left in textured cement screed. the glass meeting room will have dark clouds to shield from direct sunlight.
